Food Drive "Food Rules"
The following guidelines should be observed regarding potluck, chili
feeds, food sales, etc. Your private or interoffice food events must be
held in rooms not readily accessible by the public. You may not hold taco
sales, baked potato bars, etc. in areas accessible by the public (i.e.,
lobby areas, etc.). To be on the safe side, please hold your private or
interoffice food events in lunchrooms, break rooms, or conference rooms
(preferably with hand washing facilities nearby.)
Do not advertise or sell foods to the public unless they are commerically
prepared/packaged, or you have acquired the appropriate licenses from the
county health department. Please use discretion in the locations that you
post informational flyers and posters about food events. (Especially those
of you in buildings that have restaurants, cafes, or cafetarias run by
outside vendors.)
Safe food preparation guidelines should always be observed keep hot
things hot, and cold things cold.
