The Applied Magnetics group is looking for motivated, creative and hardworking students interested in post-doctoral and graduate-level research in magnetic devices.
If you are a post-doctoral candidate, please contact Dr. Jander or Dr. Dhagat. In addition to your curriculum vitae (CV), we encourage you to provide a brief description of your doctoral research, research interests and skills.
Students interested in joining the Applied Magnetics group for a M.S. or PhD degree should follow the application guidelines available online at http://eecs.oregonstate.edu/graduate-students/prospective-students/apply-eecs. You should select “Materials and Devices” as your main area of interest and list Dr. Jander or Dr. Dhagat as potential mentors. In your statement, be sure to specifically write which research projects in the Applied Magnetics Laboratory interest you and how your experience and knowledge will help you contribute to those projects.
It is not necessary to have previous experience or coursework in magnetism but good knowledge of circuit design, instrumentation, electromagnetism, LabView or MATLAB software, and semiconductor processing techniques is recommended.
Please note: We receive hundreds of email inquiries regarding graduate positions, many of which are form letters. Messages that display a genuine interest in our work are more likely to get a reply.
