Deborah received her doctorate in Counselor Education and Counseling from Idaho State University in 2002. Her doctoral dissertation is entitled "An Exploratory Study of Expert Group Leadership." While at Idaho State, Deborah has taught and co-taught several classes, supervised graduate counseling students, and remained active as a professional counselor of children, adolescents, and adults.

Her passions include group work, multicultural issues in counseling, and promoting the use of rigorous qualitative methodology to further counseling research.

Deborah is a native of Alaska, longtime resident of Utah and Idaho, and is always looking for new ways to enjoy the outdoors.
