Juanita develops and delivers online programs and courses for teachers; she also coordinates workshops for educators and other professionals around the state. She is currently the Program Lead for the “Mentored Master’s,” a Master of Education degree that is offered totally online. She is also the coordinator of the Oregon Continuing Teacher License Program in the School of Education.
To say Juanita has enjoyed a diverse professional and personal life is an understatement. During 20 years in public schools, she was a teacher, curriculum director, and principal. She was an adjunct in teacher education at several colleges, and a private business consultant in diversity and human resource issues. Juanita is a jazz singer, backpacker, Rotary Club President, soccer coach and referee for semi-pro men's leagues, and a volunteer quilting instructor in a program she and a group of friends started at Oregon's only women's prison.
