Nia-Kuumba: The OSU Association of Poets and Writers of Color

The African-American Kwanzaa celebration principles of purpose (Nia) and creativity (Kuumba) are being combined to form what will be OSU's newest Black student organization,Nia-Kuumba: The OSU Association of Poets and Writers of Color.

The purpose of Nia-Kuumba is to provide a safe forum for poets and writers of color to reclaim, express, share and uplift their collective literary voices. Voices that are often usurped, unheard or uninvited to participate in many of today's mainstream poetry and writing circles. Details about the organization and upcoming events will be forthcoming, please contact Dr. Michael Anthony Ingram (ingramm@orst.edu or 737-3550) for additional information.
