Black Student Union
The Black Student Union is an organization founded in the 1970s on the Oregon State University campus. This organization promotes education and culture through our yearly activities. OSU is a campus that prides itself on achieving diversity and this is the most prolific Black organization to showcase those achievements. Our goal is to educate the concerning the Black community. Anyone is welcome to be a part of this organization. We meet weekly to plan events to make our presence known here on campus throughout the year known.
The BSU plans and sponsors events ranging from the Kwanzaa celebration to being one of the highest contributors of the Divine Nine Step Show. Each term we put on a series of celebrations and gatherings to reflect positive aspects of what Blacks are doing locally, nationally, and internationally. The majority of our events are educational and cultural, celebrating diversity and having pride in Black heritage. We can be seen celebrating and educating the community on Black music, film, and leaders, who have made a difference in the world.
