Training Managers for 21st Century Fisheries

An international cooperative initiative designed to facilitate production of human capital necessary to meet 21st century fisheries management challenges.

  Action
The following are specific projects, sessions and workshops resulting from the Initiative.

Case Training Initiative
The use of the field researched, decision-focused case teaching method as a potentially powerful and effective technique in the training of fishery managers and decision-makers. However, decision-focused case teaching is rarely used in fisheries management curricula due to inexperience of educators and lack of appropriately designed cases. Go to Case Training to learn more about Initiative projects and case writing workshops designed to develop and pilot field-researched, decision-focused cases for training of fisheries management stakeholders, managers, scientists, and students.

Listserv
The trainfishmngr listserv is designed to enhance discussion and disseminate information about training for the needs of 21st century fisheries.
