Assistant Station Manager Job Description
This position is the direct support for the Station Manager position. The Assistant Station Manager handles the scheduling and coordinating aspects of the station as well as acting as technical support for studio and camera users. In all areas of KBVR-TV, the Assistant Station Manager acts as second in command to the Station Manager and has a significant amount of decision-making and managing responsibilities.
Program Director Job Description
The Program Director is responsible for the daily programming as well as the inventory and archiving of all KBVR productions. The Program Director also approves or denies plans for program proposals at KBVR TV. Other responsibilities are focused on finding new usable footage and formatting/editing it for broadcast. The Program Director holds a moderate amount of decision making responsibility while also being under the direction supervision of the Station Manager and Assistant Station Manager.
Promotions Director Job Description
The Promotions Director’s main focus is to build and maintain the KBVR TV audience and promote the work of KBVR and its programming. They will coordinate with a team of practicum students to aid the Director with activities advertising KBVR TV and Student Media. The Promotions Director works closely with the Graphics Designer. The Promotions Director is directly supervised by the Station Manager and has little independent decision making responsibilities.
Chief Editor Job Description
The Chief Editor’s main focus is on the post production of events filmed by KBVR to enhance the current program schedule. The Chief Editor is responsible for creating show promotions, PSAs as needed, and assisting all staff members in editing needs. While holding a great amount of creative freedom and responsibility, they have very little decision-making ability and are under the direct supervision of the Station Manager and are subject to the requests of other staff members.
Remote Operations Director Description
The Remote Operations Director’s main focus is to plan, coordinate, and manage all external events and activities with other organizations. They will be in charge of leading a crew of Practicum 409 students to record, produce, and stream video content throughout the term. The Remote Operations Director works closely with the Chief Editor on events such as OSU Has Talent, Fashion Show, Battle of the Bands, and more. The Remote Operations Director is directly supervised by the Station Manager, but has a significant amount of decision-making ability and leadership during planning and live remotes.
Facility Coordinator Job Description
The Facility Coordinator’s main responsibility is to assure all equipment at KBVR TV is used properly and with care. They supervise in studio productions and maintain the studio use schedule. They also work mostly with students and producers. The Facility Coordinator must also be aware of problems that arise in the studio and report them to the Station Manager and Engineer.
News Producer Job Description
The News Producer is responsible for the production of the Beaver News at least three nights a week. They must oversee and manage the crew for the in-studio production, as well as field packages integrated into the program. The News Producer is responsible for being sure their crew is trained to use all the equipment necessary to produce the News. They must also evaluate practicum students based on the point system found on the Practicum 409 Syllabus.

Office Assistant Job Description
The Office Assistant works under the direction of the Office Manager to check out equipment, assist with the webpage, and complete clerical duties. This person will be responsible for keeping the office open during the noon hour and for answering all questions, calls, walk-ins, etc. The Office Assistant has very little decision making responsibility and is under the direction supervision of the Office Manager.
Assistant Engineer Job Description
The Assistant Engineer works under the direction of the Chief Engineer in assisting both FM & TV with their engineering needs. Learning is a large part of the job, but the student engineer is also expected to know more than the average producer or crewmember. All specific duties should be completed under the supervision of the Chief Engineer.
