Assistant Station Manager Job Description This position is the direct support for the Station Manager position. The assistant station manager handles the scheduling and coordinating aspects of the station as well as acting as technical support for studio and camera users. In all areas of KBVR-TV, the assistant station manager acts as second in command to the Station Manager and has a significant amount of decision making and managing responsibilities.

Program Director Job Description The Program Director is responsible for the daily programming as well as the inventory and archiving of all KBVR productions. The Program Director views all programming before it is aired and acts as the chair of the Standards and Practices Committee. Other responsibilities are focused on finding new usable footage and formatting/editing it for broadcast. The Program Director holds a moderate amount of decision making responsibility while also being under the direction supervision of the Station Manager and Assistant Station Manager.

Public Relations & Convergence Director Job Description The Public Relations & Convergence Director’s main focus is bringing new OSU students to Student Media as talent, crew members, and producers. Their other focus is to ensure the positive image of Student Media to the rest of the University and other community organizations as well as communicate within the five Student Media groups. The Public Relations director is directly supervised by the Station Manager and has little independent decision making responsibilities.

Promotions Director Job Description The Promotion Director’s main focus is to build and maintain the KBVR TV audience and promote the work of KBVR and its programming. The Promotion Director will work in coordination with the Public Relations Director to build and implement a team of student workers in promotional work. The Promotions Director works closely with the Public Relations Director. The Promotions Director is directly supervised by the Station Manager and has little independent decision making responsibilities.

Chief Editor Job Description The Chief Editor’s main focus is editing new and old programming to fit into the current program schedule. The Chief Editor is responsible for creating show promotions, PSAs as needed, and assisting all staff members in editing needs. While holding a great amount of creative freedom and responsibility, they have very little decision making ability and are under the direct supervision of the Station Manager and are subject to the requests of other staff members.

Remote Operations Director Description The Remote Operation Director’s main focus is to coordinate events and activities with other organizations for video streaming. They lead a small team of students during live productions and work closely with the Chief Editor to produce a post production product. The Remote Operations Director is directly supervised by the Station Manager, but has a significant amount of decision making ability and leadership during live remotes.

Facility Coordinator Job Description The Facility Coordinator’s main focus is in managing the use and care of the KBVR television studios. They work mainly with students and producers. The Facility Coordinator holds very little decision making responsibility and is under the direct supervision of the Station Manager.

News Producer Job Description The News Producer is in charge of the production each term of the Nightly News in field package and live-broadcast form a minimum of three times per week. They oversee and manage all crew, stories, and aspects of the news. While being directly supervised by the Station Manager, The News Producer holds significant decision making abilities in the area of news production as well as being the supervisor of practicum students.

Assignment Editor Job Description The Assignment Editor is responsible for the anchoring and story writing for the Nightly News. Working closely with the News Producer, they will work in a supervisory role by assigning stories, managing copyright issues, and proofing all stories. The Assignment Editor has a moderate amount of decision making responsibilities and is managed by the News Producer.

Web Master Job Description The Web Master is responsible for creating, updating, and maintaining the KBVR webpage. The Web Master works closely with all staff members to make sure the content on the webpage is current and updated. While holding a great amount of creative freedom and responsibility, they have very little decision making ability and are under the direct supervision of the Station Manager and are subject to the requests of other staff members.

Office Assistant Job Description The Office Assistant works under the direction of the Office Manager to check out equipment, assist with the webpage, and complete clerical duties. This person will be responsible for keeping the office open during the noon hour and for answering all questions, calls, walk-ins, etc. The Office Assistant has very little decision making responsibility and is under the direction supervision of the Office Manager.

Assistant Engineer Job Description The Assistant Engineer works under the direction of the Chief Engineer in assisting both FM & TV with their engineering needs.
