began her career in 1985 as the Sensory Lab Manager under Dr. Mina
McDaniel, Professor and Sensory Lab Director until 2005. Mina is
currently Director of Academic Programs and Academic Assessment
at Oregon State University and can be contacted at email@example.com.
Cindy’s education includes a B.S. in Food Science followed by
a M.S. in Scientific and Technical Communication and a minor in Statistics.
This background has been helpful in her position as lab manager and
researcher. She was editor for the Sensory Evaluation Division Institute
of Food Technologists from 1990 to 1998. She is currently a professional
member of IFT sensory division.
In spring of 2006, Cindy is looking forward to instructing the Sensory
Evaluation Class within the Department of Food Science at OSU for
the first time. With the help of their experienced professional panel,
Cindy continues to run descriptive panels on everything from salad
dressings to beer and wine. On-going consumer tests range from discrimination
studies to acceptance testing. Sensory lab interests include exploring
the relationship between trained panel profiling and consumer acceptance
results to determine what drives consumer liking through multivariate
Cindy enjoys working in sensory very much, and continues to love
living in Oregon. She welcomes visitors any time!
