B. SPECIAL REPORT
- Category I Proposal
Mike Bailey, Curriculum Council Chair, will present for approval the Category I proposal for a B.A., B.S., in Social Science with Option in
Community Development & Leadership (OSU-Cascades)
- Academic Regulations Proposed Revisions
Joanne Sorte, Academic Regulations Committee Chair, will present proposed revisions to the below Academic Regulations. All
current Academic Regulations can be viewed online.
- AR 1.a.-c. – Admission for Nondegree Students
- AR 12 – Withdrawal from Individual Courses
- AR 17 - Grades
- AR 25.h. – Institutional Requirements for Baccalaureate Degrees
- Standing Rules Proposed Revisions
Bill Loges, Committee on Committees Chair, will present for approval proposed Standing Rules revisions for the following committees/councils:
- Academic Advising Council
- Baccalaureate Core Committee
- Budgets & Fiscal Planning Committee
- Computing Resources Council
- Curriculum Council

C. COMMITTEE REPORT
- Review of Selected OSU Intercollegiate Athletics Compensation Practices
Anne Gillies, Walt Loveland and Marianne Vydra will present a verbal report on the Review of Selected OSU Intercollegiate Athletics Compensation Practices.
D. DISCUSSION ITEM
- ESET Pilot Project
Bill Bogley and Kerry Kincanon, Baccalaureate Core Committee co-chairs, will present a report related to an ESET Pilot Project to
collect (indirect) evidence of student learning in the Core.
E. INFORMATION ITEMS
- Faculty Ranks
Tony Wilcox, Faculty Status Committee chair, will present for discussion recommendations from the committee related to adding Professor of Practices
and Senior II level for Instructor, Research Assistant and Research Associate faculty ranks, resulting from a recent change in the Oregon Administrative
Rules (OAR). These recommendations will be presented for approval in May.
F. REPORT FROM AND DIALOG WITH THE PROVOST
Commencement has been moved to June 17 to accommodate the schedule of the speaker, First Lady Michelle Obama. Faculty are needed to serve in
the commencement ceremony in the following ways: as escorts to doctoral candidates, as a faculty representative, or as a marshal. Expanded
details are available.
- Faculty Session with President Ray
Faculty are invited to participate in a small group session with President Ray on either April 12 from 1:00-2:30 or May 22 from 9:00-10:30. To register,
access the online form at https://secure.oregonstate.edu/facultysenate/reg/ray/ and
insert the requested information. Each conversation will be facilitated by a Faculty Senate Executive Committee member and will consist of up to 12
faculty. This is an opportunity for the president to hear what faculty are thinking and experiencing.
- Promotion and Tenure Forum
A Promotion and Tenure Forum has been jointly scheduled by Academic Affairs and the Faculty Senate Promotion and Tenure Committee to give participants an
overview of the promotion and tenure (P&T) process/guidelines. The forum will focus on faculty members who are going up for promotion and/or tenure in the
near future. A second forum will be scheduled this Fall for department heads and chairs, as well as chairs of department and/or college level P&T committees
(details will be shared at a later date). All faculty and staff are welcome to attend either of the sessions if interested. Please RSVP to
firstname.lastname@example.org no later than May 1st if you will attend.

- Category I Approval
The campus community should take appropriate action to update their records to reflect approval of the following OSU Category I proposal. This
degree program was approved on March 1, 2012 and will be available beginning Fall term, 2012.
