The agenda for the April Senate meeting will include the reports and other
items of business listed below.
Bob DeCarolis, Athletic Director, and Kelvin Koong, Faculty
Athletic Representative, will report on the recent NCAA Convention and provide
updates on athletic issues. Luanne Lawrence, Vice President of University
Advancement, will present the new Athletic Identity system.
- Interinstitutional Faculty Senate Recap
Paul Doescher, IFS Senator, will provide a recap of the
April IFS meeting.
Approval of Minutes
Approval of the March Faculty Senate minutes.
Category I Proposal
John Lee, Curriculum Council Chair, will present for approval a Category I Proposal for
a new B.S. Degree in Ecological Engineering.
Proposed revisions to AR13.c.
Jo Tynon, Academic Regulations Committee, will present proposed
changes to AR13.c.
Promotion and Tenure Discussion
Roger Nielsen, Faculty
Senate Promotion and Tenure Committee Chair, will present for discussion
proposed revisions to
the Promotion and Tenure Guidelines and new Guidelines
for Position Descriptions. Please note that colored text within the
revisions document indicates changes from the existing Guidelines and,
in some cases, the deleted text is shown on the side. The revisions can
be compared online to the existing Promotion and Tenure Guidelines. Also available to assist you in identifying the specific changes being proposed are
Notes on Revisions to
Promotion and Tenure Guidelines.
Committee Interest Form
Faculty are encouraged to consider volunteering to serve on committees for the coming year. An electronic Committee Interest Form will soon be distributed that will allow faculty to indicate a preference for serving on University
and Faculty Senate committees and councils. When possible, Faculty Senate committee/council members are selected from those who respond to the Committee Interest Form. Faculty will be able to volunteer for three university committees and three Faculty Senate Committees. Standing Rules for
each Faculty Senate committee/council are available for viewing online.

PERS: Today and Tomorrow
The OSU Retirement Association (OSURA) is sponsoring a PERS information session on April 17 from 3:30-5:30 p.m. in Withycombe Auditorium; both faculty and staff are encouraged to attend. Speakers include Greg Hartman, who will address the current legal and political status of PERS and Steve Delaney, who will address the current and future financial status of PERS. Time will be allowed for questions. An expanded announcement is available online.
