|A. ACTION ITEM
1. Install Elected Officials
Installation of President Henry Sayre; new Executive Committee members: Dan Arp, Paul Doescher and Mary Prucha; and newly-elected Senators.
B. DISCUSSION ITEMS
1. OSU Focus Areas for Research and Scholarship
Toby Hayes, Vice Provost of Research, will discuss with the Senate the five major fund-raising areas and how they were arrived at, and get input from the faculty.
2. Graduate Admissions Task Force
John Westall, Graduate Admissions Task Force Chair, will lead a discussion regarding the Task Force commissioned by the Graduate School and the Office of Admissions to re-engineer graduate admissions at OSU.
C. COMMITTEE REPORT
1. Administrative Appointments Committee
Fred Obermiller, Administrative Appointments Committee Chair, will update Senators on the current status of administrative searches.
D. SENSE OF THE SENATE
1. Semester Conversion
President Sayre will ask for comments regarding the possibility of semester conversion to provide input to IFS Senators to use during their February meeting where this issue will be discussed, as noted in IFS President Gary Tiedeman's recap to the Senate in December.

1. Faculty Senate Calendar
Faculty Senate meetings are scheduled as follows during 2001:2. Faculty Senate Elections
Ballots for Faculty Senate President-Elect and Interinstitutional Faculty Senate Senator are due in the Faculty Senate Office no later than 5:00 p.m. January 17. 3. Graduate Admissions Task Force Open Meetings
All faculty members and graduate students are invited to attend one of the Graduate Admissions Task Force open meetings where attendees will have an opportunity to express concerns about the current graduate admissions process or what they would like to see in a new process.

OSU CONNECT is the second step in Oregon State University's three-step process in orienting new students to campus. In order to create a coordinated OSU CONNECT program, proposals are being solicited from departments, groups and organizations wanting to be part of this exciting event. A Request For Proposals (RFP) package for new or existing programs, as well as the CONNECT program draft, are available by contacting Jennifer Kuzeppa at 737-0582 or firstname.lastname@example.org
