| Preparation of Annual Clery Act Crime Report | ||
The Department of Public Safety, with the input and information available from other University Departments, prepares the text for the policies and practices section. The Department of Public Safety also collects and formats the statistical information provided by reports from the Conduct & Mediation Program (for campus security authorities) and the Corvallis Police Department This information is integrated into a single document, posted on the Oregon State University web page, and provided in a hard copy document by request.
The Department of Public Safety will instigate the collection of data. Each provider will directly report to DPS (Selected University Statistics, Law Enforcement Statistics) or to the Coordinator of the Conduct & Mediation Program (University Campus Statistics), who will then report data to DPS. The sources of information are Oregon State Police, Conduct & Mediation Programs, Corvallis Police Department, OSU Experiment Stations, OSU Branch Locations (Hatfield Marine/Portland & Bend Centers).
It is the policy of Oregon State University to gather information from the Corvallis Police Department about criminal activities occurring at off-campus student organizations that are recognized by the University.
The information collected will include those reported criminal offenses and arrests required by the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act.
The information collected will include the following details:
This information will be included in the Annual Crime Report along with the information collected from on-campus sources.
A timeline for the reporting of the information has been established and meetings have been scheduled quarterly for data submission. The goal for the completion of the next report has been set far earlier in the calendar year than the submission date established by the Department of Education. This effort will support the use of the information in a variety of formats including the presentation of this information in the OSU Fact Book and to parents and students participating in the Start Program in the summer months.
