How will the bids be judged?

The RHA Executive Board and Advisor(s) will read and judge the written bids prior to the banquet. The presentation component of Hall with It All will be judged at the Banquet. Bids will be primarily ranked on creativity, content, and organization, with a heavy emphasis on creativity. Creativity will be its artistic scope and ability to “jump off” the page. Have fun with this! This is not a professional bid by any means so be creative with it! Helpful hint – make a creative “theme” for your hall that relates to the overall theme and carry it throughout each bid. Have fun with this!

What is the theme?

The theme for the 2012 Rezzie Awards is Harry Potter! Bids may be themed to this and costumes are definitely welcome! It is going to be a magical night!

Program descriptions on the next page!

Conflict Resolution

In this interest session you will be learning the various conflict styles and some helpful skills to get through conflict. We will show you some ways of how to help prevent conflict and ways to get around and manage conflict sufficiently should it arise in any team that you’re a part of.

Getting To Know your Role

Are you a new comer to Hall Council? Have you recently stepped up the ladder of succession and taken on a new and different role this term? Perhaps you never knew what you were supposed to do and are now wondering “What’s my job again?” Well we are here to help! This interest session deals with teaching new and old comers alike on what their job entails and what the requirements are, both written and unwritten, and some helpful tips on how to be the very best at what they do.

Progress of a Group

Your group has probably had its ups and downs throughout this year, and your probably wondering what’s next and how to work better as a team. If this is the case, than this is the interest session for you! In this session, we will be talking about the stages that every group goes through and talking about how you can better work together as a group.

Programming With Andi and Danny and the RFI (with Environmentally Conscious Programming)

In this lovely interest session, our NCC Andi and VP Danny will be talking about some ideas for programming and initiatives that your hall can take to improve the community that you live in. Andi will bring examples of successful programs from the Resource File Index, and will help you think about how your hall can help be environmentally conscious in it’s programming.

Looking Forward to Next Year

What are you doing next year? Did you apply to be an RA? Maybe you feel like ASOSU or MUPC is calling your name. Whether you live on campus or not, RHA is here to help! In this Interest session we will be discussing your various options for next year, and give you tips on finding housing, jobs, and how to apply your Hall Council experience to whatever you do in life.

Advertising

Advertising is hard. Well it’s pretty hard to all those individuals who aren’t Billy Mays. In this interest session we will be going over battle tested, and proven methods of successful advertising within your hall. Whether it’s a floor dinner or a building wide event, we’ll teach you methods of how to attract residents like ants to sugar water!

Wing Rep

Wing Representatives/Senators/Knights play an integral role in Hall Councils across campus! In this interest session we will be going over the role of the Wing Representative/Senator/Knight and teaching you methods of how you can use this unlikely role in Hall Council and how to plan programs through it.

Large Scale Programming

Looking at planning one final hurrah for your hall? Looking at planning an event for your side of campus, or maybe a campus wide event? This interest session will talk about how to make it happen and how you can lead a successful large scale event.

Leadership Style

Everyone is a different type of leader, and this program will help you to figure out which type of leader you are and how to use your leadership style most effectively in any position you are in.

Communication in and Out of Hall Council

Whether it is through email, texting, or signal fires, communication plays a major role in Hall Councils. This interest session focuses on improving your communication within your Hall Council and your community, and will help you learn how to better get your point across in everything that you do.
