Michele Wanner received her Bachelor's degree in Rangeland Management in 2001. Her schooling was fully funded by the Ford Opportunity Scholarship granted from Roseburg Forest Products. As a single parent with 2 children in tow, she graduated Cum Laude from Oregon Sate University. She currently works for the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) as a Soil Conservationist in the Salem, Oregon field office. She has worked in 12 of Oregon's counties while working for the NRCS and works directly with private landowners to promote conservation and wise use of their resources.
The land-uses and operations she frequently works with in Marion County are: Dairy, beef, hog, chicken, crop varieties (there are about 250 of them!), riparian areas, forestry, wildlife, and last but not least - wetland restoration and enhancement.
Michele's advises students to do some summer internships with various agencies in order to obtain the best possible fit with future employers and pay close attention to the courses and credits that are required for the position being sought. Michele is married with 3 children (one who just graduated from OSU! Go BEAVERS!)
