The 2007 Association of American University Presses (AAUP) Book, Jacket, and Journal Show honored the cover design of The Grail: A year ambling & shambling through an Oregon vineyard in pursuit of the best pinot noir wine in the whole wild world by Brian Doyle. The Book, Jacket and Journal Show recognizes achievements in the design, production and manufacture of books, jackets, covers, and journals by members of the university press community from across the country.The Grail was also selected as a finalist for the Oregon Book Award in Creative Nonfiction.

Laughing Horse Books honored Down in My Heart: Peace Witness in War Time with the Jumping Horse Introduction/Foreword Award. The award recognizes Kim Stafford's introduction outlining the legacy of William Stafford, a life-long peace advocate and Oregon's Poet Laureate.
