Ecological responses to stressors at large scales
Riparian/wetland hydrology and ecology. Hydrochemical dynamics of freshwaters.

Role in Consortium:

Responsible for the Riparian Area research component of EPA's Pacific Northwest Research Program. Ongoing research projects include (a) process-based study of the influence of riparian areas on water quality in grass-seed agricultural lands in the Willamette Valley (being conducted jointly with Stephen Griffith of the Agricultural Research Service), (b) landscape-scale evaluation of the condition and extent of riparian complexes in agricultural lands
