Rosette foliage of shepherd's-purse (Capsella bursa-pastoris) is
unique. The base of each leaf, near the center of the plant, is narrow
and without lobes. The tips of each leaf are deeply lobed, with lobes
dissecting the leaf all the way to the midrib.
Foliage is pubescent, but it is difficult to see. The tips of
each leaf appear to be more pubescent than near the base of the leaf.
Foliage on the flower stalks are arrow shaped, sessile (lack petioles),
and are usually serrated.
