Scarlet pimpernel (Anagallis arvensis) foliage is small, acuminate
(sharp pointed tip), sessile (without petioles), glabrous (without hairs),
and oppositely arranged along the stem.
Foliage is opposite, with each leaf pair growing on a plane perpendicular
to the previous and next pair.

Leaves are relatively thick, and while veins are not prominently visible,
