Life cycle:  winter annual or biennial
Habit:  more or less prostrate circular mat
Foliage:  Leaves are sessile (without petioles), pubescent, and alternately arranged along the stem.  Leaf margins are dentate.
Flower:  Flowers are pink, with 5 petals, and often occur in clusters of two.

Fruit:  The fruit of this plant is unique.  They are long, narrow, cylindrical, and tapering to a point.  They are generally positioned vertically, and are held up kind of like a candle in a candle holder.
