Latin name: Sonchus asper

	Common name: prickly sowthistle
	Life cycle: annual, spreading by seed
	Habit: Initially a rosette, then growing upright to about 3 feet tall
	Foliage: Cauline foliage is thistle-like in appearance. Anterior lobes curl under and around the stem, which is a distinguishing characteristic from other sowthistles.
	Flowers: Composite heads are of yellow ray flowers.
