Habit Foliage Flowers
Miner's lettuce (Claytonia perfoliata) flowers occur in clusters,
typically on the terminal side of a perfoliate leaf.
Flowers are white, each with 5 petals, 2 sepals (typical of Portulaceae),
5 stamen, and 3 stigma.
Initially flower clusters appear compact (above). As flowers senesce
and fruit develop, the plant's raceme type inflorescence is more obvious.
