Main page Habit Foliage Flowers Seedlings
Annual bluegrass (Poa annua), and all grasses for that matter,
are monocots. Their cotyledon is similar in appearance to their true
leaves. It has a canoe shaped tip.
By the time seedlings are visible (or noticeable) to the naked eye, they
generally will have developed a cotyledon and two true leaves, giving the
appearance of a 3-leaved grass.
