Redroot pigweed (Amaranthus retroflexus) flowers are green and
form terminal and axillary panicle like spikes.
Flowers are polygamous, with 3 stiff spiny bracts 4 to 6 mm long.
When under stress, or constantly mowed to a low height, pigweed can flower
at a very small size.
