CORVALLIS, Ore. – PeaceSlam, a one-day conference for high school students and adult teachers and sponsors to learn about PeaceJam’s Global Call to Action, will be held Saturday, Nov. 18, on the Oregon State University campus.
Registration deadline is Friday, Nov. 10. Cost is $35 per person.
PeaceJam’s call to action includes issues of unequal access to water, racism, the spread of global disease, extreme poverty, social justice, rights for women and children, environmental degradation, nuclear weapons and the international arms trade, disarming our armed consciousness and the focus on human security to create true security.
PeaceJam Northwest at Oregon State University is hosting the conference, which is a prelude to the two-day PeaceJam on April 21-22. The two-day event will include spending time with a Nobel Peace Prize laureate.
