OSU Foundation Announces New Associate Vice President of Finance

CORVALLIS – The Oregon State University Foundation has named Kenneth S. Suski as its new associate vice president of finance and administration/controller. He will start his new position on Jan. 16.

Suski has more than 25 years experience in finance and accounting. He worked for eight years at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., where he held a number of positions including senior financial analyst and most recently, director of gift information management.

“Ken Suski has a strong background in finance and in higher education,” said Steve Schauble, the foundation’s vice president and chief financial officer. “He will be a tremendous asset to the OSU Foundation.”

As the associate vice president of finance and administration, Suski will work under Schauble’s direction to oversee the foundation’s finance and administration department. He will manage multiple processes in the department including the financial receipting of approximately 35,000 to 40,000 gift and pledge payment transactions every year and the disbursement of funds in accordance with donors’ agreements.

“I am looking forward to getting started and joining the team at OSU,” said Suski. “This position is a good fit for me since it draws on my strengths and interest in the nonprofit environment. I find it very rewarding to assist students and help an institution run as efficiently as possible.”

Suski earned his master’s degree in international affairs from the American University and holds two bachelor’s degrees in finance and accounting from Canisius College in Buffalo. His past experience also includes serving as manager of capital and investing at George Washington University in Washington, D.C., and he has held accounting positions at the National Electronics Warranty Corporation in Sterling, Va., the Water Environment Federation in Alexandria, Va., the American University in Washington, D.C. and the Manufactures & Traders Trust Company in Buffalo, N.Y.

The OSU Foundation is the nonprofit organization chartered to raise and administer private funds in support of OSU education, research and outreach. The foundation has assets of more than $500 million; OSU has an endowment of more than $380 million.
