CORVALLIS - Bill Smart, the assistant director for admissions at Oregon State University and OSU's international scholar adviser, has been honored with a Lifetime Service Award by a professional association.
Smart received the award from the Association of International Educators Region I during its recent annual meeting. The region includes educators of international students from Oregon, Washington, Idaho and Alaska.
Smart has worked in the Office of International Education at OSU since 1984. He was cited for his regional and national accomplishments and "demonstrated leadership and service provided to the field of international education."
