CORVALLIS - Anita Azarenko, a professor in OSU's Department of Horticulture who does teaching, research and extension work in the areas of tree fruit and nut production and physiology, has been named the department's interim head.
She replaces Charles Boyer, who recently accepted a position as an associate dean of OSU's College of Agricultural Sciences. Azarenko has agreed to serve in the interim department head position while the college waits for the state's financial situation to improve so it can reinitiate its priority staffing process. Eventually, that process will determine if the department head position is filled with an internal or a national search, said Boyer.
