Project leaders are the University of Colorado and Tufts University. In addition to OSU's Reitsma, research partners also include the American Society for Engineering Education, Colorado School of Mines and Duke University.
Reitsma's two-year project begins in January with a $174,060 National Science Foundation grant. The grant will enable Reitsma to handle implementation of the digital library, including its structure and access and search capabilities. Additional funds will go to other universities for development of other components of the digital library. Reitsma, who earned a doctorate in policy sciences from the University of Nijmegen, The Netherlands, arrived at OSU in 1999 from the University of Colorado. He has done extensive work in development and design of information systems for engineering, science and mathematics.
