CORVALLIS - The Shangri-La Chinese Acrobats will bring their athletic, artistic act to Oregon State University on Sunday, Nov. 12, for a performance that combines comedy, martial arts and feats of daring and balance.

The performance, which begins at LaSells Stewart Center at 2 p.m., is the second event in the Corvallis-OSU Music Association's 2000-01 concert series.

For more than 25 years, the Shangri-La Chinese Acrobats have performed their jaw-dropping routines at hundreds of universities and performing arts centers. Spectators may see seven-foot costumed lions, 40-foot reptiles, and an array of brilliant costumes.

The routine includes comedy, magic, martial arts, formidable feats of balance and daring, and flamboyant acrobatics.

The acrobats have appeared on several PBS specials, and the television show, "That's Incredible." The 16-member troupe is directed by Ken Hai.

Tickets for the event are priced at $15 for adults and seniors, and $5 for students and their spouses. They are available at Rice's Pharmacy in Corvallis, Sid Stevens Jewelers in Albany, and at the door.

Future performances include the McCray and Mok piano duo, Feb. 23, and the Oregon Symphony, April 10.
