CORVALLIS - A one-act play, "Twinkletoes," by Jennifer Johnston will be performed at Oregon State University's Lab Theater Jan. 11-13.
OSU senior theater arts major Elizabeth Willis will take on the challenging role of Karen as her senior project. In "Twinkletoes," the character Karen is caught in a political whirlwind, while helplessly watching her young daughter repeat the mistake she herself made in life.
Willis is a veteran of several University Theatre productions at OSU. She portrayed Lucinda in "Love and a Bottle," a role for which she was nominated for an Irene Ryan award. Willis also played Titania in "A Midsummer Night's Dream."
"Twinkletoes" will be directed by Nicholas King, a recent OSU graduate who last summer played Ferdinand in "Love's Labor's Lost."
Charlotte Headrick, who teaches contemporary Irish theater at OSU, is faculty adviser for the production.
The 35-minute show contains adult themes and strong language, and cigarettes are smoked as part of the script.
Tickets, priced at $2, will be available only at the door. The box office opens at 6:30 p.m., with curtain time at 7:30 p.m. Due to the nature of the performance space, latecomers cannot be seated.
