CORVALLIS - The Oregon State University-Corvallis Symphony Orchestra will open its 92nd season on Sunday, Nov. 23, with music of Schubert, Rachmaninoff, Shostakovich and Berlioz. The concert begins at 3 p.m. in the LaSells Stewart Center at 875 SW 26th St. in Corvallis.

The concluding work of the concert is Rachmaninoff's "Third Piano Concerto," featuring concert pianist Craig Sheppard, Senior Artist-in-Residence at the University of Washington School of Music. OSU's Carlson called Sheppard a "formidable pianist."
"Not only does he have a brilliant technique, but he infuses every one of his performances with a powerful expressiveness," Carlson said.
Tickets for the Sunday afternoon concert are available at these Corvallis locations: OSU's Department of Music, Rice's Pharmacy, The Emporium, and Gracewinds Music Store. They are also available from Sid Stevens Jewelers in Albany.
