Roberts to present Knudson Lecture at OSU

CORVALLIS - Richard J. Roberts, an expert in nucleic acids research, will present the 1997 Gene D. Knudson Lectures in Molecular Genetics on Nov. 19-20 at Oregon State University.

Roberts is the director of research at New England BioLabs in Beverly, Mass., where he studies the structure, function, and mechanism of action of DNA methyltransferases.

He will present a free public lecture titled "The Real World of Restriction Enzymes" on Nov. 19 at 7:30 p.m. in the Construction and Engineering Hall of the LaSells Stewart Center, and a scientific seminar titled "Those Flipping Methylases" on Nov. 20 at 2:30 p.m. at the same location.

The lectures are sponsored by the OSU Center for Gene Research and Biotechnology.
