CORVALLIS - A 24-hour candlelight vigil honoring American prisoners of war and those missing in action will begin at 11 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 11, at Oregon State University's Memorial Union Quad.

The event, coordinated by OSU's Air Force Reserve Officers' Training Corps Arnold Air Society, culminates on Veterans Day, Tuesday, Nov. 12.

The OSU ceremony will open with an address by retired Air Force Col. Gary Chandler, of Corvallis. A candle will be lit and the names of all Oregon POWS and MIAs will be read.

The candle will be guarded and kept burning by campus ROTC cadets. OSU Army and Naval ROTC students will also participate.

Arnold Air Society is a nationwide ROTC honors society, founded in 1951.
