PORTLAND - One of the greatest threats to America's drinking water supplies, non-point source pollution, will be the focus of a half-hour program on Oregon Public Broadcasting at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 18.
"We All Live Downstream," was produced by the Oregon State University Extension Service. The program examines urban and rural runoff and the issues they create for surface and ground water, including problems in western Oregon's Tualatin Basin.
"The video explores how Oregon residents and government officials are trying to reduce non-point source pollution, and it offers a variety of tips that can help Americans protect their drinking water sources," said Ron Miner, a water quality specialist with the OSU Extension Service.
OSU is distributing the video around the United States to help organizations and individuals learn more about how to combat non-point source pollution, said the producer, Steve Dodrill of OSU's Department of Extension and Experiment Station Communications.
