Kirk Wydner, right, received the July ‘Our Hero’ award

Kirk Wydner, a network analyst with the College of Business, has been named the Professional Faculty Leadership Association’s July 2017 ‘Our Hero.’

He was presented with an ‘Our Hero’ mug and plaque by PFLA members in June.

According to his nominator, Wydner is a go-to IT Services person at the College of Business.

“He has always been awesome in any computer or programming issue I bring to him, but the main reason he has been my hero recently because he’s been going above and beyond in providing support for my events. We held our biggest annual event in October, and Kirk provided all IT support for me. This saved me over $1000 in A/V equipment and support at the venue, but not only that, he was creative in helping me put together the logistics and would do absolutely everything I asked.”

From providing voiceover announcements throughout the event, to running sound, presentations, and equipment for a lunch, reception, and several advisory board meetings, Wydner proved he was an event planner’s dream.

“Kirk is professional, friendly, funny, and approachable. As one of my first points of contact when I became an employee of OSU, Kirk set the bar high in establishing the culture of the College of Business and OSU in my mind, and what that ideally should look like,” his nominator wrote.
