OSU freshman killed in car crash

Oregon State University freshman Emily Reedy was killed in a car accident on Jan. 15, 2017 on Hwy. 226 near Lyons. She was 18.

Born in Salem on Aug. 14, 1998, Reedy was raised in the Stayton/Lyons area. She attended Mari-Linn Elementary, Sublimity School and graduated from Stayton High School. As a high schooler she pursued her interests in cheerleading, drama and art.

She started attending OSU in Fall 2016 and was pursuing a graphics design major. She was a member of Sigma Kappa sorority

Reedy is survived by her parents, Marc and Lisa; brother Ryan; grandparents Ron and Judy LaLonde, and Jerry and Kristy Reedy; great grandmas Virginia Merriman and Nikki LaLonde; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

A celebration of her life was held at Foothills Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Emily Reedy Memorial Scholarship fund at U.S. Bank.
