Two OSU students recently received a Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship, and one an honorable mention.
Winners of the scholarships were Alejandra Marquez Loza, a junior majoring in bioresource research, and Annika Swanson, a sophomore majoring in biochemistry and biophysics.
An honorable mention went to Brynn Livesay, a junior majoring in bioengineering.
This scholarship program was authorized by Congress in 1986 to honor Sen. Barry Goldwater. It recognizes excellence in science and mathematics, and is also designed to encourage more students to pursue careers in science, math and engineering.
