Mars Rover rolls over football team

The Oregon State University Robotics Club (OSURC) brought its “Mars Rover” to football practice April 28 at Reser Stadium. The club has competed in the University Mars Rover Challenge in Utah, winning the competition in 2008.
The Rover is based on both the real Mars Rovers and modern excavation equipment. At the conclusion of practice, OSURC members set a new school record by driving over more than 32 football student-athletes and coaches. Wednesday’s practice was the team’s final workout before the Spring Game May 1. A slideshow and video follows (photos: Theresa Hogue, video by Kegan Sims and the Mars Rover)
