Take MTH 211, 212, 390 and earn a mathematics minor by also taking

MTH 251, 252, 254, 338, 341, 361, 491, 492, 493

 

Planning to teach secondary school mathematics?

Major in mathematics with an optioon that is designed especially for prospective secondary teachers.  The math requirements are:

Freshman/Sophomore:  MTH 251, 252, 253, 254, 255, 256, 341

Junior/Senior: MTH 311, 312, 338, 342, 343, 355, 361, 491,491, 493

Other courses: PH 211, ST 351, early practicum experiences (such as SED 309, 409)

OSU has both a dual major in education at the undergraduate level and a Master’s degree program.  Both provide professional education courses and a supervised practice teaching expereience required for licensure in Oregon.  Contact the School of Education or the department of Science and Mathematics Education for more details.

1)    Basic skills (CBEST)

2)    Multiple Subjects Assessment Tests (Praxis # 10140 & 20151)

3)    First Subject Endorsement Tests

for Elementary-Middle level (Praxis # 20069)

for Middle-High level (Praxis # 10061 & 20063)
