Subjects will also include the origins of mitochondria and plastids, intron evolution in prokaryotes, genome evolution, mechanism of genetic change at the nucleotide level, and RNA editing. A course project and a computer lab will be used to introduce students to critical concepts, data bases, and the newest analytical software. |
