Juan supervises, performs and coordinates all orchard practices and the maintenance of commercial blocks at the Center. He supervises the maintenance and inventory of land, buildings, roads, field equipment and farm vehicles and is responsible for the minor construction and/or remodeling of station facilities.

Juan coordinates with research project leaders in the laying out of plots, application of experimental treatments and diagnosis of problems which arise during the research projects. He ensures that all phases of station and research projects are organized, prepared, and carried out in a timely manner.

Juan hires and trains seasonal laborers in the proper techniques in pruning, thinning, training, harvesting, irrigation, and other orchard practices.
