Todd Einhorn
Todd began his career with OSU-MCAREC in June, 2008. His previous appointment was assistant professor of pomology at California State University, Fresno. Todd will be responsible for developing a comprehensive research program in horticulture for fresh sweet cherries and pears that enhances the competitive position of the Mid-Columbia growers. The program has a major focus on plant physiology and minor emphasis in post-harvest physiology. Research will explore many aspects of orchard management using biophysical, physiological and genetic approaches to enhance cropping efficiency. Current research projects are aimed at limiting cherry pitting by regulation of expansin proteins in the fruit epidermis, continued evaluation of pear rootstocks suitable for high-density pear plantings and irrigation management of young pear trees.Davis / Deschuytter / Duckwall / Einhorn / Laraway / McCarty / McCavitt / Riedl / Rojas / Shearer / Spotts / Turner / Wallis
