Viburnum plicatum Pink Sensation Caprifoliacae
Pink Sensation Japanese Snowball (see below for other names) vi-BER-num pli-KA-tum
- Deciduous shrub, dense, upright, to 6 ft tall and 10 ft wide. Flowers medium pink in dense clusters about 7.5 cm acrose. Foliage is bronzy when young, then green, and may turn red to burgundy in fall.
- Pink Sensation is apparently one of many names for this selections. It may be synonymous with Roseace and Kern's Pink, a selection introduced by Carl Kern of Wyoming Nursery, Cincinnati, Ohio in 1953 (Dirr, 1998). The selection Mary Milton (aka Mary Melton) is similar to the above, however, the degree of pink color (vs. white) in the flower clusters may vary.
- Hardy to USDA Zone 4
