- Deciduous, low growing shrub or ground cover, under 12 inches (30 cm) tall, foliage is gray-green, new growth is burgundy as is its fall color, light blue berries produced in summer.
- Sun to part shade. Best is soil that is moist, high in organic matter, very acidic (pH 4.5-5.5) and well-drained soil.
- Hardy to USDA Zone 2 A cultivar released by the Univ. of Maine along with Claret and Jonesboro, selected for their red fall color not fruit production. It also released Pretty Yellow, Spring and Verde which have yellowish fall color.
