Halward's Silver (Nippon) Spirea spi-RE-a nip-PON-i-ka
- Broadleaf deciduous shrub, to about 4 ft (1.2 m) tall, similar width, mounded, compact, dense.
Leaves alternate, dark green. Flowers white, 7 mm, in rounded clusters, blooms in late-spring.
- Sun to part shade, does best in well-drained soil with moderate to high levels of moisture.
Prune older stems to the ground to thin and rejuvenate.

- Hardy to USDA Zone 4 Developed from seed in 1960 at the Royal Botanic Garden, Hamilton, Ontario; put in the nursery trade in 1971.
