Elk River Red Flowering Currant ri-BEEZ san-gwin-EE-um
- Broadleaf deciduous multistemmed shrub, 8-10 × 7 ft (2.4-3 ×2 m), upright-arching to rounded habit. Leaves alternate, simple. Reddish pink flowers in drooping clusters. Fruit blue-black with whitish bloom.
- Sun, for best flower production, but can be grown in part shade. Drought tolerant when established. Blooms before King Edward VII
- Hardy to USDA Zone 6 Reportedly collected in about 1970 close to the Elk River near Port Orford, Oregon.
