- Broadleaf evergreen shrub, 3 ft (0.9 m) tall in 10 years, finally 6-10 ft (1.8-3 m), young shoots stout, purplish, gladular. Leaves almost orbicular (circular or disk shaped), but usually longer than wide, 5-10 cm long, deeply lobed at base, rounded at the apex, dark green above, glaucous below. Flowers widely bell-shaped, 5-6.5 cm across, 7-lobed, rose to rose-pink, about 14 stamens, shorther than corolla.
