Rhododendron ‘Bow Bells’               ('Corona' × R. williamsianum)

• Broadleaf evergreen shrub, 3 ft (0.9 m) in 10 years, usually under 6 ft (1.8 m), erect habit.   Leaves medium size, 4-6 cm long, red-purple petioles, heart-shaped at base (cordate), new growth bronze.  Rose red bud scales.  Flowers are deep pink in the bud opening to a pale bright pink (lighter inside) with a dark pink blotch, funnel-campanulate, 7 cm wide, about 6 per loose truss.
• - 5^o F, early-mid, 3/4/3 [flower / plant & foliage / performance; scale 1 (poor) - 5 (best)]. Sun to part shade (best).
• Flowers later than ‘Temple Belle’, which is also a R. williamsianum cross.
